Now, we bring that expertise over to the 2.0T models such as the FK8, FL5, and DE5.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat Honda did right is they went with a 4-piston setup from factory but we felt we could take things a step further with a \u003cb\u003elarger aluminum 6 piston caliper\u003c\/b\u003e. This helps with thermal capacity and also allows for a slightly \u003cb\u003elarger rotor\u003c\/b\u003e. Now, 6 pistons are great, but we also employed \u003cb\u003estaggered piston\u003c\/b\u003e sizing on them for better balance and improved pad wear. That setup was prone to cracking and was heavy (around 24-25lbs). What took them so long?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eThe Big Brake Kit we designed here starts with a two-piece rotor from the get-go\u003c\/b\u003e. Two-piece rotors are \u003cb\u003elighter\u003c\/b\u003e and shedding weight in this part of your vehicle is ideal. These are also \u003cb\u003emore serviceable\u003c\/b\u003e because you can replace the outer rotor ring without having to also switch out your hub.
