Bouncing around bouncing

Great product, thicker than the 2020 OEM Fk7 centering spring, as well as the Fk8 OEM centering spring. I no longer need to move the shifter back and forth to make sure it’s not in gear. I also installed a 2020 OEM Fk8 shifter with Acuity base bushings and centering sprin, completely different car. I’d buy this and recommend this part. Two Step Performance always great customer service and fast shipping.

Save your money

Thought this would make a difference in my FK8. But no difference after install. Shifts feel exactly the same as with factory spring.

A Simple Mod You'll Enjoy on Every Drive:

This spring was designed to improve the centering action of your 10th Gen's stock shifter. If you've ever found the centering action of your shifter to leave you wanting a sportier feel, the solution is finally here. With a notably increased preload and nearly identical rate, the ACUITY Performance Shifter Centering Spring increases the centering load in neutral without significantly increasing the force required to locate the far gates (e.g. 1/2 and R). The end result is a sportier shifting feel without an increase in driver fatigue or a reduction in drivability. You can expect a 100% increase in centering force on the Sport model and a 20% increase in centering force on the Si and CTR. In addition to the Performance Shifter Centering Spring, each kit is supplied with a small packet of premium silicone grease to re-lubricate the shifter with after removing the OEM spring.

ACUITY recommends pairing the Performance Shifter Centering Spring with the 1914 Shifter Base Bushings. The combination makes for a surprisingly noticeable improvement in shifting at a very reasonable price.

Notable design change:
We've started using clear rubber sleeves on the legs of the spring. The rubber sleeves take up minor gaps between the spring and the 4 points the spring contacts the shifter. This helps to remove the final bit of lateral play in the shifter when in neutral and in gear. The other side-benefit of the new rubber sleeves is that it reduces noise related to the spring contacting the shifter during shifts, making shifts a touch quieter.
