This is a must, if you don't have the factory heat shield on. Please note that it does make contact with the turbo blanket (if you have one on) just a tiny bit, but I don't think it's a problem. I'm currently running the heat-wrapped USR catless DP, no factory heat shields. Along with the PTP turbo blanket and factory intercooler. No heat issues, IAT 1&2 are very similar to my buddy's FK8 without any blankets, but with both heat shields, heat-wrapped PRL catless DP and an Injen intercooler.
