From a WRX to the Si I’ve Always Wanted
My name is Krish Gossai, I’m 37 years old, and I was born in Guyana, South America. These days, I call Eustis, Florida home. You can follow my build journey on Instagram at @chrisgo_18. Before owning my current car, I had a 2013 Subaru WRX, fully blacked out with bolt-ons. It was a fun car, but I’d always wanted a Honda Civic Si. In 2023, I came across this one for sale at a local Honda dealership and knew I couldn’t pass it up. It was clean, well-maintained, bone stock, and previously owned by an older gentleman. I became the second owner, and from that moment, I was all in.

The Start of the Build
I’ve always loved the sound of a turbo spool; that’s really what inspired this build. I missed that sound after selling the WRX, so I bought a turbo kit from DC5 Creations and started researching everything I could about installation and tuning. This was the biggest project I’d ever tackled, and I wanted to do it right: all quality parts, carefully researched, and installed with patience.
Mods and Setup
This Si has come a long way since I bought it. Here’s what’s currently done to the car:
Hondata FlashPro w/ Custom Tune

AEM Digital Oil Pressure Gauge
AEM Digital Boost Gauge
Skunk2 Pro ST Coilovers
Skunk2 Rear Pro Camber Kit
TechnaFit Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Full-Race Stainless Steel Exhaust
Hasport Rear Motor Mount 62A

Enkei RPF1s 18x9 +35
Acuity Radiator Hoses
-6 AN Centerfeed Fuel Line, Braided
PRL RBC Intake Manifold / Throttle Body Adapter
PRL RBC Intake Manifold Adapter Kit
Acuity Short Throw Shifter
KTuned Fuel Rail
KTuned Billet Oil Dip Stick

Pulsar Dual Ball Bearing Turbo 3584
Alpha Injection 1000cc injectors
DC5 Creations Billet Battery Trunk Relocation
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s
Ported RBC intake manifold
Doryoku Modified Valve Cover w/ 10AN ports, powder-coated finish
My favorite modification has to be the turbo itself. I never get tired of hearing it spool up.

Future Plans
Right now, I’m building the transmission for 800 whp capability with GearX gears, MFactory LSD, and a 4.38 final drive. The motor will also be built to support 600–700 whp. If budget weren’t an issue, I’d take it even further: a billet block setup making over 1,000 hp would be the dream.
The Build Process
I’m the kind of person who likes to learn by doing, so I research everything and then install the parts myself. The hardest part of the process hasn’t been the work itself — it’s finding the time. I work full-time as an Instructional Designer for UMass Chan Medical School, so weekends are when I wrench.
The biggest challenge has been finding reliable info on how to install certain parts, but with persistence and problem-solving, I’ve figured it out. That process is exactly why I started sharing my journey online to help others who want to build their own Si but can’t find much guidance out there.
The Style and Vision
My Si is built as a street car - not a track car or showpiece - but with an attention to detail and quality that makes it stand out. Everything I’ve added has a purpose, whether it’s performance, reliability, or visual appeal.
When people see the car at meets and I pop the hood, the reactions make all the late nights worth it. The detail in this build catches eyes and conversations everywhere I go.

The Community and the Drive
Seeing other enthusiasts work on their cars and share that same passion has fueled my own motivation. I’ve taken the Si to a few local meets, and even though I don’t promote it much, it’s always rewarding when others notice the craftsmanship.
These builds are personal. For me, this car is my release from the real world. When I drive it, every stress and distraction fades. I don’t even play music; just the sound of the engine, the turbo, and the exhaust...that’s peace to me.
Words of Advice
If you’re just starting out, take the time to research, plan, and budget before you begin. Know what you want your car to look like and how you want it to perform. It’s better to move slow and do it right than to rush and regret it later.
What This Build Means to Me
This Civic is more than just a car, it’s my creative outlet and my escape. When I sit behind the wheel, it’s not about showing off or chasing numbers. It’s about the satisfaction of building something myself and enjoying every sound, every pull, and every moment that reminds me why I started.
