The Hybrid Racing Formula Cold Air Intake is a premium performance upgrade for the 2017–2021 Honda Civic Type R FK8. It gives performance shops a complete, well-engineered intake solution that is easy to recommend, straightforward to install, and suitable for everything from stock vehicles to higher-horsepower builds.

On a matched custom tune, Hybrid Racing testing showed an average gain of approximately 7 wheel horsepower and 8 lb-ft of torque from 2,500 to 6,800 rpm. The enclosed XLPE airbox, reflective heat shielding, dual outside-air feeds, and matched velocity stack are designed to improve airflow while protecting the filter from engine-bay heat. Customers also benefit from more noticeable turbo spool, induction, and recirculating-valve sound without excessive noise during normal cruising.

The 76mm Street version is recommended for stock and lightly modified vehicles and can operate with the factory ECU, although proper MAF scaling is recommended for the best results. The 89mm Race version provides additional MAF sensor range for larger-turbo and higher-power applications and requires Hondata FlashPro or a comparable tuning solution.

For installers, the system bolts to the factory mounting points and requires no cutting, drilling, wiring modifications, or front-bumper removal. The factory MAF sensor and turbo inlet pipe are retained, and most installations can be completed in approximately one to two hours using basic hand tools. The reusable filter can also be accessed through the airbox lid, making future inspection and servicing easier for both the shop and the customer.
